Fruit-infused lager.

8% ABV

Wild Blue won a gold medal in the fruit beer category at the 2006 North American Beer Awards (somehow).

Brewed with a blend of two- and six-row barley malt, classic Aroma hops from the Willamette Valley in the Pacific Northwest and German hops from the Hallertau region in Bavaria and all-natural blueberry syrup made from real blueberries.

Wild Blue is best paired with full-flavored dishes, such as pork rib roast with fig and pistachio stuffing or pork tenderloin with apricot mustard. It also pairs with fruit salad with ginger syrup or a mixed-green salad with dried fruit.
Pour and serve Wild Blue in a tulip-shaped glass to fully enjoy the fresh blueberry aroma which is reminiscent of field fresh ripe blueberries and observe its beautiful color with a slight pink head of foam.

I should have questioned this purchase when the bagger lady said she loved it and had recently added a bottle to her bottle collection. Thankfully, this was a one-off purchase, so I didn't have to gift a friend with the remaining five of six beers. Do not drink, stay away. If you do drink it, don't complain to me. I warned you.

Beer Reviews

Presentation Smells like blueberry and Kool Aid. Pours dark like grape juice with a slight cloudiness. Purple colored head raises eyebrows.
Taste Tastes like fruit juice spiked with vodka. This stuff tastes absolutely nothing like beer. Reminds me of really cheap wine. Think MD 20/20.
Body Thin and fruity. Alcohol permeates the entire experience.
Drinkability N/A. Terrible stuff, unless you like wine coolers and cheap, fruity wines.
Empty Glass Factor I couldn't tell you because I never got beyond three sips.
