| Why I am Mentally Sexy |
Normally I would never use the word "sexy" to describe myself. In fact I'm a little hesitant to do so now, but for the purposes of this contest, consider me the Justin Timberlake of the dadosphere. Where to begin to convince you, fair judges, why I should be chosen. Well, I guess there's no time like the present right? And presently I'm at home taking care of my son because my wife is at grad school. It's something she's always wanted to do, but never thought she could after kids. I signed her up and told her not to worry about it. Some dads might look at it as a burden to have sole responsibility for their child two nights a week for the next two years, but I think it's going to be a blast. After all I work full-time so I take advantage of all the time I can get with Will. My wife works full time too. And an hour away from home. So I'm in charge of Will in the morning and I get him to daycare. I also pick him up from daycare and cook him (and my wife) dinner every night after I get home from work. I also rearranged my work schedule and gave up my Saturday nights in order to get Mondays off so I can spend one whole day a week with him. Now even though I'm a sports loving guy's guy, Will gets to see that both dads and moms share the domestic responsibilities. When he was born I willingly gave up my small sports car for a Toyota Highlander. And on top of that, you can check out the picture below to see the bumper sticker I put on there. Now c'mon, if I wasn't secure in my dadly mental sexiness could I really strut around town with that on the back of my car? I think not. What's more, if you look at the video I'm adding you'll see that I'm teaching my son to always pay up on his bets, and to never be afraid to embrace his feminine side. Even if that involves cheerleading. I woke up for nightly feedings when he was a newborn even though he was breastfeeding, just because I didn't want to be left out. I've always been the chief diaper changer. I read to him, cook with him, play catch with him, snuggle him, discipline him and I love the holy hell out of him. The traditional roles in our family may be reversed because my wife brings home the bacon and I take care of Will most of the time, but I wouldn't have it any other way. So judges, that's my case for World's Mentally Sexiest Dad. I'm a fat guy who's not going to win any beauty contests. I'm not the most intelligent or the wealthiest out there.
