I've never been to Mississippi. And after reading this, I hope I never have to endure entering such an idiotic state.
In a nutshell, the Itawamba County school district scheduled a prom for next month. But one of their rules was all students had to bring a date who was a member of the opposite sex. One student, who is openly gay, saw that for what it is: a clear-cut violation of her civil rights and the worst kind of discrimination. So she enlisted the help of the ACLU (yeah, yeah roll your eyes all you conservatives out there but[…]

So here I sit on a Thursday night, wondering how in the heck a post is supposed to be composed and how I've done it in the past. Unfortunately, this whole blogging thing has sort of taken a back seat in recent months for me. I've been following my dreams or something.

Greetings kind Dad Blogs folks. This is just a quick service announcement from Team Dad Blogs to our devoted constituency to inform folks that the chat on the bottom of page will be going away for the time being. There was a giant box of diapers in the seat where Eli normally sits and the rest of the cart was full of groceries. The lady working the lanes looked at me and made a remark about how I[…]

Recently we took the family to Walt Disney World in Florida. Actually, it was Julie's parents that took us to Florida. It was quite the trip. Disney World is always fun and the kids had a blast. Unfortunately it was especially cold and rainy for the so-called "Sunshine State" and we all brought back more than souvenirs from the Germiest Place on Earth -- namely a nasty, nasty gastrointestinal virus and some lingering colds. Despite a week of diarrhea and vomiting that followed, the trip was worth it, in large part due to my wife's diligent planning before we left.[…]

Ever been around anyone who just seems to ooze wisdom. I have and those people are very admirable to me. They seem to have the right answers at the right time and are able to speak into situations or people’s lives words that penetrate deeply. That is the type of man I hope to be.
I have this long-standing dream of when I reach the age of 70 or older, people will seek me out because of the wisdom I posses. I will be recognized for my this very thing, people will look to me for answers as well as[…]
