maple-leaf-coolThe state of Arizona has sparked a fierce debate over the role of illegal aliens in American society, and has taken drastic steps to curb what to them is a primarily Hispanic problem.  There is a more dangerous and nefarious illegal immigration problem that has been overlooked by society and the media in general … the dreaded Canadians.

Our peace-loving, maple leaf-wearing, hockey-obsessed neighbors to the north have been able to sneak into this country unnoticed for years ripping important jobs from the hands of hard-working American zamboni drivers everywhere.

Their reach goes far beyond the hockey rink as they bring radical ideas like universal healthcare and cheap prescription drugs to the attention of our virginal American ears. One Drug Company CEO who spoke to us in anonymity said their influence is taking a toll.

The High Price Of Democracy

political-monsterAs a child, most boys I knew wanted to grow up to be doctors, lawyers, astronauts, and athletes. Those were not my ambitions. No, I wanted to grow up and become President of the United States. This became even more firmly entrenched as I watched Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Alan Keyes, African-American men, make serious bids for the White House in the -80’s and -90’s. These people of color aspiring for the highest office in the land gave hope to the fact that anything is possible in America. Then life happened. I chose another path with no regrets; yet my interest in politics remained intact.

As I read a story today about the California gubernatorial race, I was reminded of the fact that I (and so many others) lack one of the key qualities necessary for holding higher office: Moo-lah. Dineros. Cold, hard, CASH.

down syndrome boyI have never been accused of being P.C. (politically correct). I am not a fan of the PC movement, nor will I ever be, but anyone who knows me wouldn't consider me offensive either. I speak my mind freely and firmly and appreciate when others do the same without being offensive. Argumentative does not equal offensive.

As a society in general, we have grown not to use racial slurs and to teach our children not to use them. We teach respect for people's religious beliefs or the lack there of, or at least I do. That doesn't mean that I agree with other people's beliefs, but when I wish to insult someone, I do so to the individual, rather than insulting an entire group and try not to resort to the use of profanity. I attempt to use the English language with flare, colorful vocabulary and originality. I am prided when I hear my children use the English language in such descriptive terms.

Erase Mississippi from the Map

HillbillyI've never been to Mississippi. And after reading this, I hope I never have to endure entering such an idiotic state.

In a nutshell, the Itawamba County school district scheduled a prom for next month. But one of their rules was all students had to bring a date who was a member of the opposite sex. One student, who is openly gay, saw that for what it is: a clear-cut violation of her civil rights and the worst kind of discrimination. So she enlisted the help of the ACLU (yeah, yeah roll your eyes all you conservatives out there but they're right on this one) who sued the school district to allow her to take her girlfriend to the prom.

It should've never gotten to that point. The school should've recognized how ridiculously intolerant it was being. You would think school officials would back down, allow ALL students to participate regardless of sexual orientation and save what little face and honor they had left by doing the right thing. But apparently Mississippi is an old Native American term that translates to "stubborn bunch of ignorant redneck hillbillies." Because guess what they did?

Abort Tim Tebow's Ad

Heisman Trophy Winner {{w|Tim Tebow}}, before ...

For years, the worst commercials during the Super Bowl have been the ridiculously boring car ads and the (more than) slightly disturbing erectile dysfunction spots.

But this year will feature something much more offensive.

Tim Tebow — Mr. Super Christian Homeschooled Heisman winner and soon to be NFL flop — will appear in a 30-second ad with his mother, during which time they are expected to deliver an antiabortion message. The $2.5 million spot is being paid for by the ultra right wing group Focus on the Family, and represents a marked departure from the long held CBS policy that did not allow advocacy ads of any kind. Tebow’s mother is expected to talk about how doctors told her to have an abortion due to a medical condition that could have killed her and the baby prior to birth, and how she ignored their advice and ended up giving birth to a quarterback.

Look, let’s get a few things straight right off the bat.
