Now, I know many of you have read about the “Mentally Sexiest Contest” at Dad Blogs, but for some unknown reason we have only one entrant thus far. We are even giving away iPods!! The dads down unda have a similar contest available to them with only underwear as the reward. Under. Wear. I am not saying underwear isn’t great and all, but c’mon—we’re giving away iPods…with our own money.
The Australian dad blogger, Reservoir Dad, has already gotten 14 entries in his homegrown contest. So, basically, the bar has been set and the U.S. dads are getting their butts whooped right now. Reservoir Dad has even generated some solid media coverage for the contest. Check it out—he’s featured in an article by a local paper. Dude's a rock star now because of the contest--that could be you!
Guys, lets cowboy this affair and get some entries in. Not to say Australia isn’t quite capable of being just as awesome as the U.S., but right now they are making us look bad. We can't have that. Take some shots of you being a good dad. Scrubbing toilets, cleaning tubs, doing dishes with those industrial looking rubber gloves, changing a diaper, reading bedtime stories, playing with the kids at the park—you name it. Remember, being a good dad is turn on and that’s what this contest is all about. Good fun, good dads and strengthening our relationships with our significant others. If you're a single dad, more power to you! Get your entry in and show the world why single dads are a catch. In my mind you fellas don't get nearly as much credit as you deserve. Gay dads? Also should enter. Anyone that is a dad has a home in this competition. Just have fun.
Once you get your entry in, grab one of our buttons and let people know you entered the contest by pasting the code onto your blog or website. After that, get your wife, her friends and any other lady you can think of to vote for your submission. We are going to be starting a group here for Mentally Sexy Judges just as soon as we get five entrants. Don’t wait! The longer you entered the more visibility you will have as a standard bearer. The Mentally Sexy contest is huge down here - I was just interviewed on a popular breakfast radio show this morning - and we're really hoping that America can step up and offer us a real challenge for the world title. Oh, and we now have an Ipod and five Mentally Sexy Finalist T-shirts to give out as prizes as well... but most people will probably prefer the underwear. hehe
Step up Amercian Dads. Or the title is ours. The title is ours!!!
