Fatherhood Friday is both a day and a growing community of dads and moms sharing stories, ideas, photos and movies with one topic in mind - fatherhood. In a world that seems happy to deliver a message that dads are incapable buffoons, Dad Blogs is committed to changing that perception. The reality is, as we see it, parents today are more aware of parenting and the impact it has on their children and dads everywhere are becoming more active caregivers. Fatherhood Friday week 17 is here! Woohoo! Each week we see new faces participating in the Friday tradition and we see many returning bloggers, but we are just waiting for the conditions to be just so that we get over 50 links in one week. We know that there's over 50 dads out there blogging, so it's just a matter of time. When you post your Fatherhood Friday blog posts--tweet 'em and remember to use the #FatherhoodFriday hashtag as a sign of solidarity.
Also, are you a Twitter Dad? Add your Twitter ID and link to the list.
Another cool feature we are starting up at Dad Blogs is the video feature called Daddy Yak. Daddy Yak is pretty much the best thing ever--I checked, and it is. This past week was just one dad (Joeprah) talking about a topic and I am giving folks two weeks to submit their videos of themselves to Dad Blogs to be included in the next episode of Daddy Yak. The next topic? "How are moms and dads different." This could mean parenting style, their underwear--whatever, OK let's go with parenting style. Y'all know Joeprah's down--who else will contribute?
Remember the etiquette for Fatherhood Friday:
- Do link to awesome posts on your blog (link directly to the post, not the homepage)
- Do link back to Dad Blogs and Fatherhood Friday
- Do not link to something unrelated like a sale on used tires
- Do visit as many other contributors as possible
- Do tweet about your post and add the hashtag "#FatherhoodFriday" to the end of the tweet
