Fatherhood FridayFatherhood Friday is both a day and a growing community of dads and moms sharing stories, ideas, photos and movies with one topic in mind - fatherhood. In a world that seems happy to deliver a message that dads are incapable buffoons, Dad Blogs is committed to changing that perception. The reality is, as we see it, parents today are more aware of parenting and the impact it has on their children and dads everywhere are becoming more active caregivers. Fatherhood Friday 20Years from now when you are eating pureed peas through a straw for dinner, you will look back on the events of this week and be able to say that you were there. You saw history in the making. You experienced the beginning of a movement. You witnessed the arrival of Fatherhood Friday 20.

Oh yeah, there was that death of the King of Porn or Pop or whatever. Reggie Jackson was his name, I think. But I digress.

All I can say is that I am incredibly honored to be a part of this incredible event that happens every week. I've seen quite a few posts among the lot of the FF participants and I've run the entire range of emotion reading them, from laughing to experiencing minor eye irritation. I'm looking forward to another 20 weeks. And another 20 after that. Etc...

I'm also glad to see that the site hasn't been sucked into a wormhole following a healthy debate about civil unions. I'm thinking - and correct me if I'm wrong - that some people agree with Debating Dad and some don't. I just can't wait to see what people have to say about gay marriage.

Dad Joe is on vacation this week, so everyone break out the party supplies and beer kegs. If the cops come, I don't know any of you. I'll reconsider if you participate in FF this week.

Being awesome on Fatherhood Friday is easy. Just follow these simple guidelines:

  1. Do post a Dad Blogs badge on your blog and watch your popularity grow exponentially
  2. Do link to awesome posts on your blog (link directly to the post, not the homepage)
  3. Do link back to Dad Blogs and Fatherhood Friday
  4. Do not link to something unrelated like the differences between viral and bacterial pathogens
  5. Do visit as many other contributors as possible
  6. Do tweet about your post and add the hashtag "#FatherhoodFriday" to the end of the tweet
    • Are you a Twitter Dad? Add your Twitter ID and link to the list.
  7. Do subscribe to the Dad Blogs feed

Remember, dads AND moms can participate. I hereby declare Fatherhood Friday 20 in session!

I prefer reading non-politically correct nursery rhymes to my son, and today I provide some excellent examples! http://cyniclite.blogspot.com/...arily.html
