Fatherhood Friday is both a day and a growing community of dads and moms sharing stories, ideas, photos and movies with one topic in mind - fatherhood. In a world that seems happy to deliver a message that dads are incapable buffoons, Dad Blogs is committed to changing that perception. The reality is, as we see it, parents today are more aware of parenting and the impact it has on their children and dads everywhere are becoming more active caregivers. Things have been a little too quiet around here. A post here, a post there, next thing you know the chat box disappears. The nerve of those guys.
Well, just when you thought we lost interest, I can assure you that the gears have been turning behind the scenes. Lots of things are happening and it all affects you. A few hints:
- dates are set for a convention in Chicago (thanks WeaselMomma!)
- another awesome upgrade for registered users
- lots of free stuff coming your way
- review stuff like never before
I'd go into more detail, but then the e-mail that Joe is sending out would be all for nothing.
We wonder if anyone reads the FF posts, so in an attempt to determine the accuracy of this assumption, I'll blather on about nothing. Blather blather foobar spatula, interrogate feebleness interrupting with fries. Could the dog meet the goat for beers at the local pub or would he have to refinance his house? You tell me.
For all you new folks wondering how this whole Fatherhood Friday thing works--relax, it's easy. First, write a post on fatherhood. Next, link it here using the Mr. Linky widget. I was up till 3 AM working on this beast! I had it finished but last night around 12 AM I gave it one more look because it wasn't quite what I wanted to say. Yea, it's a bit long and a bit of a manifesto but I REALLY hope you will indulge me by reading it and leaving me your feedback. THANKS!

Phew, that was a close one. I almost would have had to start Fatherhood Saturday, but it obviously didn't have the same ring . Nice one BTW Dad- Blogs. I felt you were making a reference to our pre-Dad-Blogs convention night ( http://thedevoteddad.com/2009/...r-hangout/ ) at the Sports bar with the goat/beer thing. Also, Yeah, we read the FF post, it's how we get the scoop. Peace!

Just went back to work after being a stay at home dad for the past 15 months, so my "schedule" is a little miffed. It has been a couple of days since I blogged, but I'll get my schedule sorted out this weekend.

I'm in, but I need help.
1. Having trouble making the Mr. Linky widget show up in a post.
2. Also, on Mr. Linky, "Fatherhood Fridays" isn't on the drop-down list. Do I edit the HTML to make it point to the right place?
3. Is there a theme or do we just submit a post on any fatherhood topic?
4. The idea is to do the post *on* Friday, right?
I'm new at this, so help is much appreciated. -- Dave
