Fatherhood Friday is both a day and a growing community of dads and moms sharing stories, ideas, photos and movies with one topic in mind - fatherhood. In a world that seems happy to deliver a message that dads are incapable buffoons, Dad Blogs is committed to changing that perception. The reality is, as we see it, parents today are more aware of parenting and the impact it has on their children and dads everywhere are becoming more active caregivers. If you don't believe me--check out the posts in our archives.

Fatherhood Friday twenty-eight! Holy smokes. Where does twenty-eight weeks go? I'll tell you where a lot of mine went--the summer break. I love my kids and we had a blast this summer, but I was looking forward to them getting on the bus and giving me a breather. Speaking of school and summer--how about that theme? Good stuff right? Not only have we been hard at work on the theme, but we've also been working hard around the site. Here are some of the latest developments:
- A convention post is under construction
- We upgraded the look and feel of the homepage because we care
- At 2:00pm we are doing a live giveaway for great band MilkShake's CD called 'Great Day'
- We are annoucing on August 31st the start of a huge contest and the remaining details of the upcoming convention
Pete got jiggy with his post last week and I think we are at around 50% of those who post links for Fatherhood Friday actually read the FF posts. Pete thinks it is more than 50%, I on the otherhand think it is less. So, I will take this weeks test and run with it.
Very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink, he would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Some times he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy, the sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical, summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds, pretty standard really.
For me, that pretty much sums it up. Now onto the links...

I hadn't perused it in years. And no, I have no financial interest in it (or otherwise)!
