Holy cow, it's Friday already! As usual, it seems that the Fatherhood Friday post is either posted in a hurry the night before or posted on the day in even more of a hurry. Today would be the latter of those. You know it's bad, though, when Joe forgets to cover my back as he so frequently does. Meh, we will get through this together like the troopers we are.
Before I forget, badges for the Dad Blogs conference in Chicago next year are now available. Oh yeah, and so are tickets. Only $150 gets you a pass to hang out with some of the coolest people in the world. Don't miss it, I guarantee that the experience will be spectacular.
With school back in session these days, time is even more scarce and evenings are packed with things like dinner, homework, family time and - in my case last night - laundry. We aren't talking "a load of whites" laundry, but rather the "my awesome mother-in-law has been away for two weeks and we haven't done laundry" kind of laundry. It's amazing the odors that can be generated by four people, especially when the kids leave wet towels on top of the clothes they played in all day. I'm lucky if my clothes hit the laundry basket, instead opting for the floor approach. But at least I keep it all on my side of the bed.
Lucky for us, the week has been pretty light on homework, so it's been relatively easy to transition back into the school schedule. Waking up early for an 8 a.m. school start is no fun, but we are managing. Which brings me to the theme for Fatherhood Friday: back-to-school. Got any good stories to share on the topic? Have any good lunch ideas for kids? Homework horror stories? Teachers from hell? Let your fellow dads and moms know by following the simple, copied-and-pasted-from-last-week's steps below.
