Fatherhood Friday is both a day and a growing community of dads and moms sharing stories, ideas, photos and movies with one topic in mind - fatherhood. In a world that seems happy to deliver a message that dads are incapable buffoons, Dad Blogs is committed to changing that perception. The reality is, as we see it, parents today are more aware of parenting and the impact it has on their children and dads everywhere are becoming more active caregivers. If you don't believe me--check out the posts in our archives.

As Fatherhood Friday looms before us, it has become clear that a change of theme is in order. Themes, like an anchor on a boat, give us stability and focus. Themes are an infusion of discipline on an otherwise free wheeling tradition and only serve to make Fatherhood Fridays better. For instance, the theme could be deli sandwiches and the contributors thought process would change from:
"I really wish I knew what I was going to write about for Fatherhood Friday."
to
"I l-o-v-e Dad Blogs and I am so glad they came up with a theme--I also love deli sandwiches!"
See that? They said that they love Dad Blogs simply because we came up with a theme. I know this is a hypothetical, but we here at Dad Blogs are quite sure this is the thought process of the standard Fatherhood Friday contributor. So, with that being said, the theme for the next two weeks will be:
TV Dads
How have TV Dads influenced your perception of dads? Are there any shows that you watch on TV currently because you can relate to the father figures? Are dads given a bad rap on TV? Is the perception getting better or worse? If you don't have a TV, they are boxes that display moving pictures. So, go forth and write about TV Dads. Let's see what we can come up with.
Rock on ~
