Considering that kids grow up quickly, it's only natural to document every waking moment with photos. Cameras are incredibly powerful and cheap these days, making everyone feel like a professional photographer, but all too often that feeling stops at the end of the lens. Once the shutter snaps, the shooter's skill is captured and condensed into one fleeting moment of time. Professional photographers are unmistakable. Amateurs (us regular folk) are unmistakable, too. But with a basic understanding of a few photo tips, you can elevate the quality of your photos to semi-pro levels.

Today, I'll talk about the Rule of Thirds. Having this tool in the box will definitely improve your shots, regardless of the subject. From a hamster funeral to a Disney vacation, everything will suddenly look better and more alive.
