tigerThis will be the second group effort here at Dad Blogs, this time we are focusing (as is the rest of the nation) on Tiger Woods. In my opinion we need to leave the guy alone, but I am sure others will disagree--and that's the nature of this project. Let's be heard as a group in the "Dad Bloggers Project: Leave Tiger Alone."

Here are the guidlines/tips:

Be creative - put together a music video, do a webcam monologue, do a painting, a poem (no haiku--cause I said so), a blog post--let your creativity flow

Be opinionated - no one wants to read a post that says, "I have no opinion"

Be controversial - say why you think there should be more coverage, say why you hate sports personalities, say why you hate ESPN, say why you think Tiger is a bad dad or a good dad, talk about the importance of second chances or why you think infidelity deserves public scrutiny

Post your links below in the Mr. Linky widget

Let's show the nation that dads have opinions on the topic of Tiger Woods and that our opinions are important.

I'm already crafting up an angry masterpiece on this! It'll probably be just a blog post because I don't have a webcam, but I am foaming at the mouth to eviscerate this ass clown!

i'm SO FREAKIN' sick of the whole deal, i honestly don't know if i'll be able to put something together. but if i do, it will include this nugget:

catch a tiger by the tail? more like catch a tiger chasing tail.

by the way, where are all the crouching tiger, hitting, dragging jokes?

My opinion is that I don't care. Not just about Tiger, but about pretty much all celebrities. Who cares what JLo had for breakfast? I definitely do not. I do care about my wife, my daughter, my family, friends, and myself. Those are the people we should put our efforts into.

If you must have an opinion about Tiger, I would only state that, if I cared, I would be disappointed. Here you have someone who is intelligent, the best at what he does, and in a position to be a positive role model for a wide range of people. It's disappointing that he has thrown all that away with moral weakness.

If I have time, I'll write a full rant. For now, let me just say as part of a community of Dad (and Mom) Bloggers, "Tiger is just another reason why we as dads should aspire to be true heroes for our children. Sports heroes, while great on the field, are destined to let us down personally, usually because power + wealth + narcissism = moral corrruption. Tiger may be the best on the golf course, but he's let his own children (and wife) down."

My take on Mr. Wood's transgressions. Better late than never!

"Great minds discuss ideas,
average minds discuss events,
small minds discuss people."

E. Roosevelt

Too much to expect when JLo falling on her ass is still news two weeks later?

Media, bloggers included, should leave this alone and concentrate on real issues.
