Welcome to Dad Blogs.  Dad Blogs is a site based on the vision of two dads with one goal in mind-to make the internet a better place for Dad Bloggers.  Dad Blogs was born out of necessity.  Both of the creators of DB were tired of browsing through parenting blogs and being assaulted with page after page of feminine ad campaigns and badges for mom blogging networks without ever seeing a male alternative.  Let's face it, there are just way more mom blogs out there and there are many that are very successful.  We believe that one of the reasons for the success and proliferation of mom blogs is largely due to the fact that moms are excellent networkers.  Dads are more solitary creatures and seldom hang in large packs but in order for dad bloggers to be taken seriously by the internet community we need to adopt some of our counterpart's ways-primarily network and unite.

Our vision for Dad Blogs has given birth to the site you see right now.  Some of the great features include:

  • The Dad Blogs Directory - A growing registry of all the Dad Blogs in the internet.  To be a part of the directory you simply need to sign up and edit your profile.  With each additional member of our directory our voice grows stronger--don't miss out.
  • The Community of Dads - The Community of Dads has many features from personal profiles with many applications to choose from to install-like Twitter Updates (an application which displays your latest Twitter activities), member groups, member photo galleries, member video galleries, a community blog -- The Dad Blog (Voices of Reason), and the Dad Blogs forum.  There are many ways to interact with members from writing on each other's walls, a profile application, to commenting on blog posts, photos, videos to much, much more.  We worked to bring the best of the webs social networking features together to make one dynamic and addicting community.
  • An up and coming dad-centric ad network - Perhaps our main goal for Dad Blogs is to attract advertisers to our site to become part of ad network that all members can participate in.  We are looking for companies from the Fortune 500 to the more humble internet start-ups and anything in between.  We would like to start a network of ads that are relevant to our interests as dads, from sports, music and gadgets to microbrews, tools and our families.  Part of our vision includes a desire to create a community of reviewers.  We envision a place where dads can take on opportunities to review products and services on their own blogs for pay.  With each passing blog post and ad placement our collective voices will become more powerful and sought after, meaning more opportunities for all of us.  Can you dig it?
